Overcoming Anxiety

Overcoming Anxiety:

Anxiety can feel overwhelming, constant, and isolating. It can be consuming, impacting your mind, body, relationships, and overall sense of security in the world. At its core, anxiety often stems from a complex web of lived experiences, bodily reactions, and relational patterns that influence your present experience.

In my practice, I offer a holistic and compassionate approach to help release the grip of anxiety. Drawing from relational Gestalt therapy, somatic and mindfulness practices, and psychodynamic therapy, I create a warm environment where we can explore the roots of your anxiety, deepen your connection with your body, and develop tools that empower you.

Relational Gestalt Therapy: Fostering Connection and Presence

Relational Gestalt therapy stresses the importance of real authentic connection — with yourself, the world around you, and with the present moment. Together, we will:

  • Explore the here-and-now of your experiences, identifying patterns and emotions as they present themselves in the therapy room.

  • Identify needs and boundaries within relationships.

  • Help you become more present, even in moments of discomfort or fear.

By expanding your awareness and focusing on the therapeutic relationship, we can learn more about how relational dynamics might be contributing to your anxiety. This process helps you build more secure and fulfilling connections with yourself and others.

Somatic and Mindfulness Practices: Coming back to Your Body

Anxiety can often be felt in the body: a racing heart, shortness of breath, muscle tension, or a constant feeling of unease. Through somatic and mindfulness techniques, we’ll work to:

  • Tune into your body’s signals and responses with curiosity and compassion.

  • Engage in grounding and breathing exercises to help regulate your nervous system.

  • Release stored tension or trauma that may be intensifying your anxiety.

Somatic work helps you regain a sense of security in the world by anchoring you in your body and the present moment.

Psychodynamic Therapy: Exploring the Roots of Anxiety

Psychodynamic therapy works towards uncovering the unconscious patterns that shape your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we will:

  • Look at how early relationships and life experiences may be influencing your current struggles with anxiety.

  • Explore recurring patterns that may be leading to you feeling stuck in cycles of fear or avoidance.

  • Expand self-compassion and insight into your internal world.

This deeper understanding will allow you to process unresolved emotions and create new supportive ways of moving throughout your world.

A Collaborative Journey Toward Healing

My approach towards helping you with your anxiety will be tailored to you individually. I honor your unique story and shape our work together to meet your needs. Through a mixture of relational presence, somatic awareness, and psychodynamic exploration, we will:

  • Build your capacity to relate to your anxiety in a new with curiosity and confidence, where you have more control.

  • Develop practical tools to help support you with your anxiety in your daily life.

  • Cultivate a deeper sense of connection to yourself and others.

Anxiety can be so isolating, but you do not need to face it alone. Together, we can create a path toward a greater sense of security, peace, and healing.
