Navigating Relationship Challenges

Navigating Relationship Challenges

Connecting with people is one of the core parts of being human. Whether it’s familial, platonic, or romantic, our relationships with others deeply impact our emotions, view of ourselves, and overall well-being. While these relationships can bring meaning and depth to life, they can also become sources of anxiety, conflict, or pain.

Common Challenges in Relationships

Challenges in relationships may include difficulties communicating, consistent conflict, feelings of loneliness, struggling to set boundaries, emotional disconnection, or struggles to trust. Each relationship presents its own individual dynamics and complexities, and I am here to help you explore and address these in a supportive environment.

My Approach to Healing your Experience in Relationships

I draw on three interconnected therapeutic modalities to support you in addressing relationship challenges:

Relational Gestalt therapy emphasizes the here-and-now experience of relationships. We will look at your relational patterns, identify unmet needs and missing experiences, and together practice communicating to that moves towards connection and understanding.

Somatic and mindfulness practices help you tune into the emotions that are often stored in the body leading to greater self-awareness, groundedness, and compassion.

Psychodynamic therapy explores how past relationships and family dynamics are contributing to your current struggles. Together, we will explore unconscious beliefs and behaviors, work through stuck emotions, and make room for new ways of relating.

How Therapy Can Help Cultivate Deeper Connections with Others

In therapy, we will work collaboratively to engage in new styles of communicating, strengthen boundaries, deepen trust, and cultivate self-awareness. By integrating these approaches, I aim to create an individualized therapeutic approach that meets your unique needs. Together, we can address the relational difficulties you are facing and work towards more meaningful, supportive, and joyful connections.
